How to play

You and your partner against the other pair: make your bid, and the first team to the target score wins

1. Four at the table, your partner sits across from you. Missing players? Bots fill the empty seats
2. Everyone gets 13 cards (or 9 if you picked that) and bids how many tricks they'll take. Zero is nil: you take none at all
3. The player left of the dealer leads. Follow suit if you can; if you can't, play anything
4. Spades ♠ always trump: the highest spade takes the trick, otherwise the highest card of the suit led
5. You can't lead a spade until someone has played one (spades are broken), unless spades are all you have

• Make your team's bid: 10 × bid plus 1 per extra trick (a bag). Fall short: −10 × bid. Every 10 bags costs 100
• Nil made is +100, nil broken is −100, and the nil bidder's tricks don't count toward the partner's bid
• A team that sinks to minus the target (say −250) loses right away
• The 9-card game drops the 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s: every suit keeps 9 cards from 6 up to Ace, so it's quicker but plays the same
• If your turn timer runs out, the game plays for you, and your next turns get shorter until you're back
